Cody Lohden has traveled an uncommon road to Nashville: from working as a firefighter and paramedic in Kentucky to building a country music career rooted in traditional influences and hard-earned perspective.
Country Roots in Kentucky
Raised in Garfield, Kentucky, Lohden picked up a guitar at age 12 and found inspiration in the songs of Keith Whitley and Don Williams, along with the grit of Bob Seger. An early singing competition helped him discover an appetite for performing, setting him on a path that eventually led to regular songwriting trips to Nashville.
From First Responder to Recording Artist
Before pursuing music full time, Lohden worked as a firefighter and paramedic. He released music independently while building an audience online, and a viral video helped bring his talent to the attention of singer-songwriter ERNEST. Lohden later signed with ERN’s Cadillac Music and DeVille Records, opening a new chapter for the Kentucky native.
New Songs, New Stages
His 2026 releases include “Go Round” and “One Boot Out the Door,” drawing on a classic-country sensibility without sounding stuck in the past. Lohden has toured in support of ERNEST, Bailey Zimmerman and Walker Hayes, while also writing material recorded by other artists.
Why CRE Is Watching
There is a lived-in quality to Lohden’s journey that fits the best country stories. His combination of traditional influences, songwriting experience and a developing live career makes him an artist worth following as his audience grows.
