Arizona Based, Highway 260 Band announces they are to record their first EP . If you aren't familiar with The Highway 260 Band, you should be.  A few years back a band named "Dustin Howell and The PLHB Band" was formed.  Fast forward to early 2019 when they evolved into what is now known as The "Highway 260 Band".  Soon after The Highway 260 Band started playing around the state of Arizona... Gaining traction, their reach continued to grow, as did their following.  Today they are a five-piece band which includes the steel guitar.

Feeling the affects of 2020 along with their fellow musicians they found themselves in the middle of a list of a canceled shows due to the pandemic.  Like all of us, the Coronavirus ( COVID ) pandemic has affected our business, livelihoods and families in many different and often the same ways.  Frustrated and looking for options, Dustin Howell got up dusted himself off and came up with an idea.  It was time to hit the studio and start recording.

I recently spoke to Dustin Howell to get a feel for what secrets they are cooking up in the studio.  Dustin explained that: "Highway 260 band is trying to help change the culture of Country Music back to its original roots."  Although they are currently working on an EP , the songs will be released as singles between now and mid 202.  The EP is schedule to be released in August 2021.  The first single to be released will be "The Bourbon Was Cheap".  It is described as a "kick back, drink a beer, and tap your toes" kind of song.  The title of course is self explanatory.

This first single was written by front man Dustin Howell, and produced by Donny Grubb and Kit Halloff of The Donny Grubb Band (local Arizona Muscians/Producers).   Donny Grubb has assisted with and produced multiple recordings, evening performing in them himself for artists all over the country.  He also stated that they want to "keep their debut album simple, old school, rolled into some red dirt".  I was since informed that their first single has been completed... And yes!  We got a listen!  So stay tuned for updates on its release.
