This year's race to be in the Top 5 Country Bars of 2019 has been anything but quiet.  We are now jokingly referring to it as the battle for number 1!  Why is this?  Well, we have had a massive response to the contest in comparison to last year.  The voting continues 24/7...  Not to mention the traffic was so heavy during week 1, the site even went down for a few minutes.  We love to see this kind of support for the venues!  Many of them are loaded with history and not to mention employ our favorite local musicians.

Donny Grubb has been in the Music business since he was 11 years old when he picked up his Grandpa’s 1951 Fender (Nocaster) Telecaster and started whaling away.  Grandpa’s Fender was the 3rd instrument Donny learned to play.  He started on the mandolin and then the banjo.  Donny grew to love his Grandpa’s Telecaster the most and still plays it regularly to this day.

Arizona in general boasts of many Country Bars .  They aren't always huge like you might get in places like Texas.  But, over the years we have seen many come and go.  Some simply changed hands and some closed and vanished from sight... Now ghosts in our memories, all that sometimes remains is the memory of the times we all danced to live Music in these bars and Honky-Tonks .
